MODULATION is NOT your average band. Comprised of some of the nations most talented and professional musicians, singers, and songwriters, MODULATION is a funky, soulful, rockin’ dance experience.

These aren’t your average weekend warrior musicians. Members of MODULATION have played with GRAMMY award winning artists Steely Dan, AC/DC, Aaron Neville, The Neville Brothers, and The Dead and have been musical guests on numerous national television shows like: The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Martha Sterwart, The Today Show, Music City Tonight, TNN's Grand Ole' Opry Live, and Last Call with Carson Daley. With four strong vocalists, MODULATION combines their selective pick of covers to blend with their funky original sound. Everything from MOTOWN to 80’s pop/rock to 21st century R&B. They play the music YOU want to hear, the music THEY want to hear, and The music that makes EVERYONE dance.

Heather Brooks has a seductive, sassy voice with a maturity beyond her years. Whether she is performing one of her own compositions or reliving the story from another artists’ lyric, Heather Brooks sells it as her own. Mike Rogers brings a vast array of instrumentation to MODULATION. You might not be able to sit still when Mike takes over a song! David C. Johnson can PACK a dance floor by simply playing some funk on his bass guitar. (We’ve witnessed it!) His command over the audience always guarantees a party. Ray Nesbit forges the rock element to MODULATION. A master at the guitar, Ray’s solos habitually bring people to their feet. Darrell Nutt rounds out the quintet with meticulous groove manipulation and rock solid funk.

MODULATION MEMBERS

	DAVID C. JOHNSON Bass Guitar, Keyboards, Vocals David C. Johnson, Born in Detroit, MI began studying piano at age 7. He then took up the bass guitar at age 11, playing in local Detroit Area bands until moving to Florida in 1989. Since then he has become one of S.W. Florida's premier musicians and a "first call" Bassist. Since 2000, David has been touring with the Grammy award winning legends of New Orleans, The Neville Brothers. He is also the musical director of the Aaron Neville Quintet. Performances include Jay Leno, David Letterman, Ellen DeGeneres, Martha Stewart, The Today Show and many others to his credit. David endorses Tobias Basses and Hartke Amps.
	HEATHER BROOKS Keyboards, Vocals Heather Brooks grew up climbing trees, reading books and listening to her parents' records in the small town of Moore Haven, Florida. In between headphone sessions with Steely Dan, Prince, Yes and Al Jarreau, she played piano for her church and fought with her two sisters. Moving to the 'big city' of Fort Myers when she was 14 of course, changed everything, and boys took up the time that ruminations on God and music didn't fill. After a brief spell of undedicated college enrollment, she waitressed and began writing particles of progressions on the piano about real-life stories and imagined endings. It was after a month long cross-country road trip with her best friend and a dense breakup that Heather decided to renig on her idea of music as an escape and pursue songwriting with the dedication and recklessness it deserves.
	MIKE ROGERS Acoustic / Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Sax, Vocals Mike Rogers plays guitar, sax and bass with the group and has fronted his own bands and toured the US extensively. Mike says that music ”…is what I do for my soul.” Mike has recorded 3 full-length releases and is currently working on his fourth.
	RAY NESBIT Acoustic / Electric Guitar, Vocals Ray Nesbit has been performing, producing and engineering music since the early eighties. Raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, touring brought Ray to southwest Florida where he relocated in 1988. Since then he has developed a renowned solo show that continues to be one of the most popular acts from Key West to southwest Florida, to Lake George, New York and Putin Bay, Ohio. In 1997 Ray began performing with various musicians including the Shadows of Knight, members of Cheap Trick, the Dead, the Allman Brothers, and AC/DC, while he continued to develop himself as a recording and sound engineer. Today Ray is an accomplished producer who has collaborated with local and world class musicians alike. He continues to be a first call performer and sought after sound engineer.
	DARRELL NUTT Drums, NO Vocals Darrell has been playing drums since the age of four and was hired for his first professional recording session at 14. Throughout the 1990's, Darrell toured across the USA, Canada, & Europe performing with National Artists in different styles of music and appeared on national television music variety shows. Today, Darrell is a sought after session and live performance drummer. As a producer, he has written songs in many genres of music including jazz, house, chill/lounge, breakbeat, garage, brazilian, nujazz, trance, downtempo, and latin. He has also written music for television and film. Darrell is dedicated to sharing the gift of music through recording, teaching, performing, and writing. Career Highlights: Filling in for Phil Rudd for 2 shows with ACDC, playing club dates with Elliott Randall & Chuck Rainey from Steely Dan, being the first American ever to perform in Garazda, Bosnia during a Slovic national tour.
